Burnt Money is the steamy Argentinean
hit film about an infamous heist gone horribly wrong. Set in Argentina in
1965, Burnt
Money is based on the true story about the ruthless bank-robbing
duo, Nene (Leonardo Sbaraglia) and Angel (Eduardo Noriega, of Open Your Eyes).
Everyone calls them 'Los Mellizos' (the twins), but they are actually lovers:
lethal, thieving lovers.
It's the story of a doomed relationship, confined to four rooms
where intense passion and violence push the extremes. They flee from Argentina
across the border to Uruguay
after a large-scale hold-up that turns bloody. With the cops closing
in, the two lovers must confront their demons to survive.
Director Marcelo Piñeyro (Tango Feroz, Wild Horses),
has created an original piece of filmmaking that is full of action and sexy
to watch. His signature
style has rendered him huge recognition as a director in Argentina
as well as internationally.
2000, Argentina, 125 minutes, Spanish with English
subtitles.
$28.95.
